going back home

well, the family that has taken me in has had enough of me and so now i´m heading back home on thursday.

i´m excited about seeing my family again and being back in my old house. when i get back, the next day will be my brother´s birthday party. he´s going paintballing and we´re also going to my favourite restaurant, so i´m also excited about that.

it seems that me becoming homeless is getting closer and closer. i guess it all depends on how long my mom is willing to keep me : ) i´m still very opposed to getting a job. it still seems like a waste of time and with me dropping out of school and all, the only jobs i could get are cleaning toilets (maybe not even that!). i´m just not willing to put up with all that bullshit just so i can live.

other than that, not much new. i´ll keep you posted on how things are going and when i get home, i´ll put up some pictures of some of the ruins i saw while i was here in mexico. adios ; )

i might be going crazy....

but i´m actually pretty happy right now (believe it or not ( ; )

i´ve left my cousins house and moved in with my uncle. he also lives on the island and i feel it´s better for me to live hear because i have more space. my uncle has given me my own laptop to use while i´m here (he might have given it to me as a gift or at least i´m hoping lol )

other than that there is nothing new at all really, but that´s the strange thing. i´ve done nothing all day, but meditate and go on the internet. i´ve practically lived in my room for the last few days, but i´m still happy for some reason. i might be suffering from mania, but who really cares, right ?

i think i´m starting to understand all of things i´ve read about learning to live without desires and just being happy. maybe buddhism is on to something there ; )

it seemed backwards before, but if you give up the things you desire, you learn to be happy without them. i´ve learnt in the past fews days to give up eating when i´m not hungry, to give up sleeping when i´m not tired and to focus on just being happy for no reason. i´ve got to tell you, it´s working.

for those of you reading, try it yourselves. pick something that you think you can´t live without and go without it for a day (please don´t stop breathing though. that might take a bit more practise first ( ; )

if not democracy, then what?

the main reason democracy sucks is because the majority rules the minority. the minority is RULED and has their freedoms taken away. that´s why it sucks.

i don´t know what to do. i personally think that a society where we all get along or go or seperate ways when we don´t agree, is next to impossible.

my prediction for the future is that we´ll all become one world under god (the christian one, of course, because believing in a deity with more than two arms is just absurd) with one government.

to MAX : i think anarchy is better than the system we have now, because instead of taking the chance of being ruled (as in anarachy) we give the power directly to our dictators and don´t be fooled, because that is what they are.

i think the only chance we´ve got is to divide the world up into parts where people with different beliefs can go and live with other people of the same beliefs. there would be world laws like :

-murder and hurting others= bad -no restricting right to be able to move to another ´country´
-proportionate land and resources for each countrĂ½´s population
-no war between countries
-freedom to create one´s own country with it´s own rules

of course, there would have to be more, but i think this is better than what we have now.

everyone would be able to live the way they liked and we might even be able to work out our differences and become one world that loves one another.

this is just an idea and probably wouldn´t work, mostly because of a majority again. they would be all grouped together and start thinking ´look at those idiots, they don´t know how to think let alone run a country. we should take over the world and run it the way it is supposed to be.´ and then let world war three begin.

you may also say we are already using this sytem, but it is a little different in the fact that anyone can create a country and run it by its own rules and that people may leave a country when they don´t like it.

like i´ve said before, i don´t think we will be able to create a system where people can be truly happy because of the majority of stupid people who feel the need to make the world conform to their beliefs.

i´ll leave you with a quote by a guy named james bovard: ¨Democracy must be something more than two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for dinner.¨

anyways, talk to you next time,

democracy and why it fails

TO START THINKING

democracy sucks. it´s slow and by the time it has finished, there is almost always a large group of unhappy people.

basically, what democracy says is that the largest mob should be able to decide what everyone has to do. this doesn´t make any sense. everyone has different beliefs. religious or otherwise. if the majority says that murder is okay, why should i be forced to live under those rules if i did not choose them for myself?

democracy is forcing people who will never agree with each other into a system and then telling them to agree with each other.

also, democracy depends on people being able to make informed decisions. with this many people, the only way to know what´s going on is to do painstaking research on every subject or to trust what the media says the experts say.

and THEN after all that, we don´t even vote for each individual problem, we vote for own dictators! we vote for people to vote for us, hopeing they don´t fuck us over. the system we have is worse than democracy, it´s putting faith in people we´ve never met and who we only know through what the television tells us.

that being said, democracy works fine when it is a small group of friends trying to figure out where to go for lunch (for example) because they want to go together and so they need to figure out a place that they can all, or at least the majority of them, can be happy with.

when it comes to a whole country of people, it doesn´t work like that because people can (or should be able to) go there seperate ways and say, you do your thing, i´ll do mine. this also isn´t just choosing where to go for lunch, this is to create laws that dictate how we are allowed to live.

i don´t know about you, but i´m not leaving that up to politicians and the every day joe shmoe.

i was born under a system i don´t agree with, or was ever even asked if i wanted to be a part of. yep, that´s democracy for you.

hola otra vez

hello everyone. sorry i didn´t write earlier, but i was going through one of my depressed phases again. i´m all better now, i think and am going to tell you all about how my vacation thingy is going.

most of my days are spent sleeping in late and then watching television or reading. not too exciting yet, but i do get out once in a while and swim or do something. the ocean is very beautiful, but unfortunately the best spots are a good distance away from where i´m living.

in a few days, i´m going to be going to a school in cozumel (i know it sounds like taking a step backwards for me) so i can meet some people. not too excited about the actual school though. we have to wear uniforms and i have to do the work too so i might quit that pretty quick.

i´m learning a bit of spanish, but i´m still not very good at it. everyone talks too fast and i still can´t roll my R´s at all.

anyways, lately i´ve been focusing on my meditation and just taking it easy. the weather is nice, but hot and it´s hard for me (being from canada lol)

i haven´t made any new friends really : ( but i´ve been here for a few weeks. that´s another thing lol the days seem to be blending together. i have absolutely no idea what day it is. the computer says it´s miercoles (wednesday maybe?) i´ll have to work on memorizing the days of the week.

other than that, my life is the same as it was before. still not sure what i´m going to do after i get back home lol but i´ve never been one to worry much about that sort of stuff. i´m sure it´ll work itself out.

also, i should add that i got a camera for christmas, so if i see anything cool, i can take a picture and show you guys! i know, high tech eh? anyways...

for now,

adios chicos

it is nice in cozumel and i hope it is nice where you all are too.

it's just a ride

yay i've been awarded again (and about time too ;p) thanks max!

also, it's getting nearer. just over one week until i leave for mexico and counting!

i really like the way bill puts it. that's his name if you wondering, bill hicks.

i don't have much to say other than that. everyone seems to get caught up in the hustle and bustle. they lose themselves and treat life very seriously. their jobs and living by others' standards. it doesn't matter. it's just a ride, so chill out, sit back and enjoy it.
